What's happening this week in workers' compensation? IWP's weekly legislative wrap-up, State of the States, keeps you up to date on important matters within the workers' compensation and pharmacy arena.
This week's legislative wrap-up contains updates including:
- Both the legislature and the Governor of Virginia have agreed to the terms of a new COVID-19 presumption law, which grants a COVID presumption to first responders within the state.
- In Arizona, a bill that will make it easier for firefighters to make a workers' compensation claim for a cancer diagnosis is waiting for the Governor's signature.
- A new bill introduced in the New York Senate would require practitioners to counsel all patients on the risks associated with opioid medications before issuing a prescription.
This edition also includes updates about Arkansas and Kentucky.
