What's happening this week in workers' compensation? IWP's weekly legislative wrap-up, State of the States, keeps you up to date on important matters within the workers' compensation and pharmacy arena.
This week's legislative wrap-up contains updates including:
- In New York, a bill that would tie attorney fees to the weekly compensation awarded to workers or to a percentage of the workers' compensation now awaits a signature from the Governor.
- If passed, a new law in New Hampshire would ensure that more firefighters receive workers' compensation benefits for presumptive heart and lung disease by raising the age limit from 65 to 70.
- Legislators in the Colorado House and Senate approved PDMP changes to the current system that would expand the PDMP to monitor all prescription drugs, not just controlled substances.
This edition includes updates from Maine and Texas.
