What's happening this week in workers' compensation? IWP's weekly legislative wrap-up, State of the States, keeps you up to date on important matters within the workers' compensation and pharmacy arena.
This week's legislative wrap-up contains updates including:
- A bill that would mandate the use of electronic prescribing for all controlled substances in Illinois now has nine co-sponsors and is currently awaiting a hearing.
- According to a report by the Massachusetts state auditor, the Department of Industrial Accidents found that the majority of the cases filed with the Department were not addressed in a timely manner.
- Rep. Jared Patterson of Texas introduced a package of bills focused on the workers' compensation system and first responders, including a COVID-19 presumption.
