What's happening this week in workers' compensation? IWP's weekly legislative wrap-up, State of the States, keeps you up to date on important matters within the workers' compensation and pharmacy arena.

This week's legislative wrap-up contains updates including:

  • The Virginia Insurance Commission posted rules to help with a new law requiring employers to notify workers of their intention to accept, deny, or request more information on workers' compensation claims within 30 days.
  • The Senate in Colorado is taking up a COVID-19 presumption bill that would establish a rebuttable presumption for essential employees diagnosed with the virus.
  • In New Hampshire, the House is taking up a bill requiring prescribers providing initial opioid prescriptions to receive and document verbal acknowledgment from patients regarding the risk of addiction and overdose.
